In the beginning of the semester I was not that good at writing and I really was not that confident in my writing skills. I was not that organized in the beginning of the year and my essays were always too short or I got off topic too much. That was my biggest problem in the past that I got off topic too much sometimes. But throughout the course I got some skills that I learned along the way that really help me now a days when having to write an essay. I first did it by becoming more organized with the way I get my ideas down for it. I make a bullet point list and just write down all the thoughts I had in my head for the essay. I try and find really good articles that give evidence to the topic unless the articles are given to me then I try to find the best quotes for evidence. All of this stuff has made me more organized and more confident in my work because I feel like I wasn’t taught how to properly do essays in high school, but now that I am in college, I actually feel like I know what I am doing and it makes me feel a lot better. That is also how I engage in global and local revision because all the things together that have helped me become better when writing an essay. This shows that with a little bit of help from learning new ways to do essays and ways to be organized I can really improve the way I show my work.
