For this assignment we had to show what our week would look like if we were teaching science through our literacy blocks for our chosen grade. This assignment aligns with standard seven because in standard seven it says the teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as well as knowledge of learners and the community context. With this assignment I was able to plan a whole weeks worth of lessons into one small slideshow that I could use in my future classroom one day as a real weeks worth of content. By drawing knowledge upon content areas, curriculum, and more it is good to know how to set up different blocks like literacy.

I really enjoyed working on this assignment because it gets me ready for future lessons I will be making for my students. I want to teach kindergarten and in this grade in the literacy block is where I will be including a lot of science and social studies materials. Being able to learn how to make literacy blocks that can incorporate other subjects is super important when wanting to teach the younger students. This will help me in my future by having references to look back on and resources to use as well.
