For this assignment we had to create a mini lesson that would be interactive for us to present at BIS for the grammar fair. We had to create a poster board that was interactive and had the parts of I do and You do in a lesson. Each person had a group of 5-6 students and went between four different groups, so you would be presenting your lesson four to five times in an hour. This assignment aligns with standard five because standard five says “The teacher understands how to connect concepts and use differing perspectives to engage learners in critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving related to authentic local and global issues.” This assignment is helping me use what I have learned in the classroom and make a creative lesson for the students.

This will help me as a future educator because I will always have the lesson plan, poster, and reflection to look back on from the grammar fair. Now the future grade I want to teach is kindergarten so as far as I remember you don’t get into grammar like this but it is never a bad idea to introduce things early to students. The earlier you introduce them to something the more time they have to learn and practice it. I can also always bring out the poster I made and use it in my future classroom. Having resources and references to look back on is always a great thing to have for teaching.
