Artifact-EDU 206
For this artifact we decide to use our literacy timelines. For this timeline we had to pick from three different parts of development. We got to choose between oral language development, reading development, and second-language acquisition. Between those three categories there were four subjects within those categories you could pick from, there was a lot of options. I chose to do my timeline on Second-Language Acquisition. This artifact aligns with the standard because with a timeline it can show development and how much a learner has grown with the steps it took. The standard says “The teacher understands how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning an development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas, and designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences.” I think these two align well with each other.
When doing this assignment I was a little nervous because there is always going to be information you don’t know and when having to do research on top of a topic you don’t know can not always be the best thing I know i get scared I am putting in the wrong information. This assignment was a lot of fun though and I had a really good time with it. The research was very simple with KG’s instruction she gave us and having the creative ability to make the timeline however I want is something i enjoy when doing assignments. Being able to express myself in my work. This will help me in my future classroom and help me be a effective educator because the more knowledge you know to help benefit you or your students is as good as it gets.
