For this assignment we had to create a tab from our class google website for the mentor text. We had to pick 6 books that connected to the Six Traits of writing or different genres. For example some of them could have been fantasy, poetry, mystery, etc. there was a lot to choose from. For each book that you upload to your tab it needs to have the title of the book, what genre or trait it was, description of book, connection to genre or trait, and how you would use it in your future classroom. Then we had to pick one of our books to present to the class and pitch it to the class. This assignment is related to standard seven. It says in the standard that the teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as well as knowledge of learners and the community context. This assignment is making sure I have future resources for my students in my classroom.

I think that this assignment will expand my pedagogical knowledge and improve my future practice as an effective educator because there are over a million different books that you will come across in your lifetime of going into teaching and your teaching career. Something that I have learned is having a good classroom library or just having the access for the students to get these books to read or look at is something super important and helpful in the long run. These books cna connect to different literacy lessons and more but you can also keep in the curriculum your school provides. I based my books off of a kindergarten classroom aka why they are all picture and less intense books for younger children.
